Jayson Tatum Stands Up For Former Teammate Grant Williams

The Grant Williams smear campaign has gone too far

Since the start of the 2023-24 season Grant Williams has been the NBA media's piñata. He's taken hits from Mavericks players and front office staff, Draymond Green in a post game rant and most recently Boston Celtics Play by Play commentator Mike Gorman.

While appearing on Boston radio show 'Toucher & Hardy', Gorman was asked if Grant Williams was annoying and answered "Yeah he was annoying, he was annoying to everybody. He also labelled him a "Bad locker room guy". As this picked up traction on social media platform X, former Boston Celtic Jayson Tatum weighed in with his opinion

It's clear from Tatum's post he had become frustrated with the narrative that is being pushed around Grant Williams and wanted to publicly display support for his former teammate. Remember, Boston wanted to keep Williams for the MLE last summer and only moved on due to having tax concerns.

So far in Charlotte, Grant Williams' impact has been a positive one, endearing himself to his teammates, players and coaches. He is certainly vocal and always has something to say, but that makes a nice change for Hornets fans who have watched their team sleepwalk through blowout losses for too long.
