Everyone who has followed this situation closely probably saw this coming. Jones has been away from the team since they returned to Charlotte for voluntary workouts and did not participate in training camp.

The former 2021 first-round draft pick has had minimal impact through his first two seasons, averaging 2.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks per game. It's highly unlikely that the Hornets will get much of anything in return for Jones given his small sample size and limited production. However, another team out there may be willing to take a chance on what is still a first-round talent that needs a change of scenery.

Jones has spent the last several months posting some bizarre videos on Instagram and has crossed the line too many times when it comes to calling out his teammates on Twitter.

With Mark Williams proving to be the Hornets' answer as a rookie and the improvement as Nick Richards serving as the backup, Jones was expected to see limited action once again this season in Charlotte.

Tomorrow, the Hornets will tip off preseason play on the road against the Miami Heat.
