What would you do for your 60th Birthday? Maybe a fishing trip, a nice meal out? How about donating $10 million to the Make-A-Wish foundation? That's what Michael Jordan has done, breaking the record for the largest donation ever received from an individual in the organization's 43 year history.

In a statement released by Michael Jordan he said:

“For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids. Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration.I can’t think of a better birthday gift than seeing others join me in supporting Make-A-Wish so that every child can experience the magic of having their wish come true.”

For all the criticism Michael Jordan receives as an owner for his on court basketball decisions, he has remained consistent been a major donor to a variety of charities. After all, Jordan pulled the plug on his own "Jordan Foundation" as he believed the administrative costs were taking money away from the charities he hoped to help.
