Miles Bridges Confused by Reported Uncertain Future in Charlotte
The Hornets are off to a slow start to the 2023-24 season but Miles Bridges, who missed a full year of basketball due to his off-the-court situation, has not had many issues.
In his first seven games, Bridges is averaging 20.3 points and 7.6 rebounds while shooting 51% from the field and 45% from three-point range - all improved categories since he last played in 2021-22.
If the Hornets and Bridges continue trending in opposite directions, his name will start to be mentioned in trade rumors the closer we get to the deadline. Bridges is on a one-year deal and according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, there's "not a lot of confidence" that Bridges will be back in Charlotte next year.
Bridges saw the report on X and was confused by it, putting a question mark under the aggregated report.
Bridges has stated several times over the last few years how much he loves being in Charlotte and wants to remain here long-term. But to Fischer's point, if the Hornets plan on being sellers at the deadline or expect to make front office/coaching changes at season's end, it would at least be worth the effort to see what a trade would net the organization. The last thing they can do is let Bridges walk for free.
