Orlando Tops Charlotte, 117-106

The Hornets move to 20-45 on the season.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Hornets closed out a four-game homestand with a 117-106 loss to the Orlando Magic on Friday in what was a very sloppy game. The two teams combined for 42 turnovers on the night.

The Hornets got off to yet another slow start offensively, but they eventually figured things out thanks to Kelly Oubre Jr. and Terry Rozier knocking down some shots. Instead, it was the defensive end that was problematic for the Hornets. Orlando got several easy looks in the paint, which led to a 64-point half.

After controlling much of the first three quarters, Orlando allowed a 12-0 Charlotte, making things interesting for a few moments bringing us to a 96-87 score. The Magic called timeout and answered with a 7-0 run and from that point on, never looked back.

Paolo Banchero finally broke out of his shooting slump exploding for 31 points on the night on 13/26 shooting (2/6 3FG). Prior to tonight's game, he made just one of his last 33 shot attempts from three-point range.

Oubre posted a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds.

The Hornets will now hit the road for a three-game road trip beginning in Brooklyn against the Nets on Sunday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST.
