It was a challenging year for LaMelo Ball as he suffered numerous injuries that kept him sidelined for much of the season. But according to Hornets GM Mitch Kupchak, he's trending in the right direction with his recovery.

"Melo still has a walking boot," Kupchak said in mid-April. "That's going to come off. My understanding is that the bone is very close to being completely healed. So he should be in good shape going forward."

Both of LaMelo's ankle injuries were freak accidents with the first one stemming from stepping on a fan's foot courtside and the other happening on a stepback move that was a non-contact injury.

This year, Ball hopes to stay healthy and help lead the Hornets back to the postseason and will be doing so in his new signature shoe, MB.03. There is no release date or retail price listed just yet, but there have been some photos that have leaked out showing the new shoe which has five different variations - LaFrance, Toxic, Hills, Laboratory, and Blue Hive.
