Roster Moves: Hornets Waive Three Players

Charlotte trims its roster to 18.

Friday morning the Charlotte Hornets announced that guard Jaylen Sims and forwards Tre Scott and Angelo Allegri have been waived.

Scott played in five games with the Hornets in the NBA2K24 Summer League and averaged 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest. He also played in ten games with the Hornets G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm this past season. There, Scott posted 17.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 53% from the field and 34% from three-point land.

Allegri spent the first three seasons of his career at UNC Greensboro before rounding out the final two years of his eligibility at Eastern Washington. For his career, the 6'7", 215-pound forward averaged 8.8 points, four rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Sims, a Charlotte native, played his college ball at UNC Wilmington where he amassed 1,360 points, 539 rebounds, and 174 assists.

The Hornets now have 18 players on the roster.
