Spread & Over/Under Predictions for Hornets vs 76ers

Can the Hornets cover the spread?

Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: 76ers -10.5

1 Star play on the 76ers: If Charlotte plays to their ability, they could give Philly a run for their money in terms of covering the spread. They won't come close to winning the game, but 10.5 is a lot of points, especially on the road. That said, the Sixers are on a hot streak right now having won six straight. I don't see the Hornets being able to keep pace as Joel Embiid posts another 40-point performance.

Over/Under: 226.5

1 Star play on the under: I'll be honest, I have no idea what to do with this total. The Hornets have been one of the league's best defensive teams since the All-Star break, but they haven't been able to score it since LaMelo Ball went out. On the other hand, Philly can put up 130, 140 on any given night, but also has nights where they barely cross the century mark. I'll put a small lean to the under here, which has cashed in 15 of the Hornets' last 20 games.

My picks for the season

ATS: 20-19 (51%)

O/U: 23-16 (59%)

Overall: 43-35 (55%)
