Spread & Over/Under Predictions for Hornets vs Heat

Can the Hornets cover the spread?

Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Heat -4.5

3 Star play on the Hornets: Yup. I'm doing it. I'm taking the Hornets to not only cover the spread but to win their fourth straight game. Why not? They're playing much better ball of late now that they're finally healthy (minus Cody Martin) and the Heat have lost three straight. Confidence crisis for Miami? Maybe. I'm not willing to back them and find out.

Over/Under: 226.5

1 Star play on the over: Both teams are coming off playing last night, so naturally, the play would be the under, right? Not tonight. Charlotte and Miami are averaging a total of 238.3 points per game in their three previous matchups. The loser of each game had at least 112 points in all three contests. After a really poor night shooting in Milwaukee (36/92 FG, 39%), I expect that rust to be shaken off tonight in Charlotte.

My picks for the season

ATS: 17-16 (52%)

O/U: 22-11 (66%)

Overall: 39-27 (59%)
