Spread & Over/Under Predictions for Hornets vs Raptors

Your betting guide to Tuesday night's game between the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors.

Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Raptors -14.5

Four star play on the Raptors for this one. Toronto's length and size defensively has been a tremendous problem for the Hornets dating back the last couple of years. Charlotte has not beaten the Raptors yet this year, and I don't expect that to change on Tuesday. The length and activity of Toronto's defenders have created havoc for Charlotte's offense even when fully healthy, so as we saw on Sunday with the Hornets missing as many experienced guards as they are they are really going to struggle to get into anything offensively. Pascal Siakam is a really tough match up for any team and this is especially true for a team with as many injured players as Charlotte. Toronto should cruise in this one as they continue to battle for play-in seeding.

Over/Under: 223.5

Three star play on the under will be the action. The Hornets' offense might struggle in this game. The young guards of James Bouknight and Theo Maledon will have their hands full dealing with the size and length of Toronto's defenders. The Raptors will force them into tough positions and their lack of collective experience could come back to hurt the Hornets here. I just don't see how Charlotte will score the ball efficiently and put up enough points to push this over the point total.
