Breaking: Jordan Clarkson Wins Sixth Man of the Year Award
It was announced on Monday afternoon that Utah Jazz forward, Jordan Clarkson, has been named the franchises first ever Sixth Man of the Year Award winner.
The award was presented during TNT's NBA Tipoff show when the TNT hosts sat down with two of the three finalists for the award: Clarkson and his Jazz teammate Joe Ingles.
Ernie Johnson asked Clarkson how many Utah Jazz players had won the Sixth Man of the Year Award. Clarkson semi-confidently answered "zero". Ingles then jumped in with one finger raised and exclaimed "one". When Johnson asked who that one Jazz player might be, Clarkson confusedly looked at Ingles, who pointed at his teammate.
As the realization set in for Clarkson, he smiled in disbelief while Ingles turned around to pick up the award from one of the television crew members. Ingles handed the award to Clarkson before the two embraced in celebratory fashion.
Many of Clarkson's other teammates went to Twitter to send their congratulations to the newest Sixth Man of the Year Award winner.
Clarkson beat out Ingles and New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose for the award. As mentioned earlier, this is the Utah Jazz first ever Sixth Man of the Year Award in Franchise History. Clarkson's family surprised him at Utah's practice facility after the announcement to begin the celebrations.
