Donovan Mitchell announced on Wednesday afternoon that he will be participating in the Mountain Dew Three-Point Contest during NBA All-Star Weekend. Mitchell's 38.9% from beyond the arc this season is a career high, passing his 36.6% marker from last season.

The Utah Jazz currently sit in third place in team rankings for three-point percentage, connecting on 39.7% of their shots from downtown. Mitchell is currently ranked fifth on the team in three-point percentage behind Joe Ingles (46.3%), Royce O'Neale (42.1%), Mike Conley (41.2%), and Bojan Bogdanovic (39%).

Mitchell decided to have a bit of fun in regards to Ingles not joining him for the contest. According to Eric Walden at the Salt Lake Tribune, Mitchell said, "I just found out today...I've been begging Joe (Ingles) to do it, but he wont. He'll probably be in his rocking chair or something."

This will be Mitchell's second appearance in a skills competition over All-Star Weekend. He emerged victorious in the 2018 Verizon Slam Dunk Contest scoring 48, 50, 50, and 48 while beating out Larry Nance Jr. for the title.

The Mountain Dew Three-Point Contest will take place at 4:30pm mountain time. After the competition concludes, the NBA All-Star Game will tip off at 6pm mountain time.
