Jazz Announce Kiswe Partnership to Live Stream Games for Next Season
Thankfully for fans, Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith has placed a consistent and significant emphasis on ensuring each fan has access to watch their team play next season. Now, with their newly announced partnership with cloud video company Kiswe, it gives fans another option to tune into the Jazz next season.
According to Ben Anderson of KSL Sports, Kiswe announced the launch of their new streaming offer for Jazz fans during the 2023-24 NBA season:
“Kiswe, the interactive, fan-first cloud video company, and the NBA today announced a ground-breaking partnership to bring Utah Jazz games directly to local fans via [Smith Entertainment Group] Media’s new subscription-based streaming service,” the company announced.
“For the launch of its first-ever direct-to-consumer offering, SEG Media elected to leverage Kiswe’s cloud-based video solutions and the NBA’s streaming platform to
provide a seamless and immersive experience for Jazz fans
.”
Kiswe announced a similar partnership with the Phoenix Suns in April of 2023. It seems more and more teams are continuing the trend of transitioning viewership to on-demand streaming as opposed to inconvinient cable TV ties.
In what will hope to give Jazz fans a simple, cost-effective way to watch their team across the long NBA season, it provides a great alternative to the traditional purchase of NBA League Pass many have endured over the past few seasons. With the announcement in June to locally broadcast Utah games to KJZZ TV for 2023-24, another avenue to view the games gives those even less of an excuse to not be watching Jazz basketball this season.
Still, the early stages of this rollout leave us without any indication of a potential price, features, and other information, preventing us from diving deep into this new development. However, within his short tenure as the Jazz owner, Ryan Smith has shown a refreshing desire to give fans what they deserve.
All signs point to this being another win in Smith's ownership of the Jazz since purchasing the team in October 2020.
