Jazz-Cavaliers Injury Report: Markkanen, Clarkson, Okoro Update

The Utah Jazz will be up against a familiar face on Tuesday night.

The Utah Jazz will have the opportunity to stop their nine-game skid on Tuesday against former member of the franchise Donovan Mitchell with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This marks the second meeting these two will have since the blockbuster trade taking place two summers ago, currently tied with a 1-1 overall record.

For the Jazz, the tank looks to be rolling forward as the injury report tells it, as several contributing pieces will be out of the lineup for tonight's game. Both teams unveiled the status of their roster ahead of Tuesday night, each side with a few inactives:

Utah Jazz:

Lauri Markkanen- OUT (shoulder)

Jordan Clarkson- OUT (back)

John Collins- OUT (back)

Cleveland Cavaliers:

Isaac Okoro- OUT (toe)

Craig Porter Jr.- OUT (illness)

Dean Wade- OUT (knee)

Ty Jerome- OUT (knee)

For the Jazz, veterans Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, and John Collins will each be on the sidelines as they deal with their respective injuries. It could be seen as a surprise to see any of these guys back in the lineup before year's end, considering the circumstances, and Tuesday night will be no different.

It was announced Markkanen was to be re-evaluated in two weeks, signaling the potential end of his 2023-24 campaign. Seeing Clarkson and/or Collins suffer the same fate in due time could also be a real possibility.

For the Cavaliers, a few bodies down the rotation are not expected to suit up tonight. Isaac Okoro, Craig Porter Jr., Dean Wade, and Ty Jerome are all players listed as out for Cleveland. However, expect Donovan Mitchell to remain fired up in a matchup that should be an exciting watch as he returns to the place that drafted him.

The Jazz and Cavaliers will tip off in the Delta Center at 7 PM MT.
