Jazz Duplicating Kings' Turnaround Could be Written in the Stars
The 2022-23 season for the Utah Jazz was a success. Winning 37 games along with the player development that took place put Utah back on the map.
But how does that transfer over into next year? According to GM Justin Zanik, Utah won’t force the issue in regard to its growth.
“We’re not going to be pushed by a timeline," Zanik said. “Like we have to be 'X' by this time this year or the next year.”
However, what if the time is now to push in your chips, but the Jazz brain trust isn’t thinking outside the box?
The Sacramento Kings posted a dismal 30-52 record in 2021-22, only to be the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference one year later. The Kings have proven that it’s possible to go from the lottery to bonafide title contender in one year.
But nobody could have seen it coming. Well, almost nobody.
Mike B. from Sparks, Nevada — a modern-day Nostradamus — had the Kings' turnaround pegged in his preseason analysis. In fact, he was so confident in what his analytics told him that he placed a $1,000 bet on Sacramento winning the Western Conference with Circa Sportsbook, at 100-1 odds. If the Kings can prove the experts wrong, the payout would be $101,000.
What were the NBA gurus and Vegas oddsmakers missing that Mike perceived as a bettor? Mike, a retired elementary school teacher, didn’t hold back when revealing his secret sauce.
Apparently, an NBA team's future is written in the stars.
“Back in November of 2022, I noticed most of the Kings players had strong astrology aspects for May 24, 2023, and June 9, 2023," Mike told The Frozen Rope. ”The Mayor of Sacramento also had strong astrology aspects for those dates. So I made a futures bet on the Kings. Plus the Moon, Mars, and Venus move into Leo at this time. Leo rules kings and its symbol is the lion, just like the Kings' mascot. So I figured the Kings are likely to have an epic home game on May 24 during the Western Conference Finals.”
We might have to ask Mike how the Jazz's astrology is lining up for May and June of 2024.
