Jazz F John Collins Earns Franchise Record in First 3 Games of Season
During the first three games of the season for the Utah Jazz, things have been a bit up and down. They’ve started with a 1-2 record, most recently coming off a brutal loss to a short-handed Phoenix Suns team 104-126. However, despite the loss, a new Jazzman has already begun finding a place in Utah record books.
Offseason addition F John Collins has been a double-double machine in his short tenure with the franchise, finding one in each of his first three contests. His averages add up to 13 points and 11 rebounds, accompanied by just over an assist a night during this short sample size.
His three double-doubles are the most within a Jazzman’s first three games since the team moved to Salt Lake City in 1979. It puts the Utah native in some elite company to kick off his time with the Jazz, with hopefully more to come as the season moves on.
Collins and the Jazz will continue their season on Monday as they travel to take on the reigning champion Denver Nuggets. The Utah forward might have a tall task maintaining his rebounding numbers against a superstar big like Nikola Jokic, but we’re three games strong so far!
