Jazz G Jordan Clarkson Signs Shoe Deal With Anta Before FIBA World Cup
The 2023 FIBA World Cup is approaching quickly. Players have been preparing diligently for the big event through the past weeks through countless FIBA exhibitions to get a feel for international play in a new, highly-competitive environment.
In the case of Utah Jazz and Phillippines G Jordan Clarkson, preparation for the World Cup has come both on and off the floor, notably at the endorsement negotiations table.
New developments detail that Clarkson will wear Anta exclusively for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup. Sides continue to discuss the possibility of Clarkson continuing his Anta partnership into the 2023-24 NBA season, per Naveen Ganglani on X.
If signed for the NBA season, Clarkson would join the likes of Golden State Warriors G Klay Thompson, Dallas Mavericks G Kyrie Irving, and Charlotte Hornets F Gordon Hayward as an Anta athlete.
With the exponentially increasing endorsement opportunities around the league, especially shoe deals, it only makes sense for players to capitalize on them. In this situation, it gives Clarkson the perfect chance to partner with Anta across the World Cup and potentially even further down the line.
Clarkson is coming off a solid showing in a preparation game with the Phillippines vs. Montenegro. In the contest, he posted 27 points, five assists, and two rebounds, shooting 8/15 from the field. However, his eight turnovers on the night might be a contributor to their eventual 102-87 loss.
The 2023 FIBA World Cup kicks off on Friday, August 25th, giving Clarkson more preparation time before the tournament officially begins.
