Key Dates For Jazz Nation to Monitor Entering 2023-24 NBA Season

Utah Jazz fans would be wise to mark their calendars with these dates.

Utah Jazz fans can't wait to see how all the offseason moves CEO Danny Ainge made this year take shape. 

From getting two key veterans back — Jordan Clarkson and Talen Horton-Tucker — to selecting three players in the first round of the NBA draft — including No. 9 overall pick Taylor Hendricks and Summer League sensation Keyonte George — and the acquisition of John Collins via trade, it's been a busy offseason for the Jazz. 

But what comes next? Here are the key dates — courtesy of NBA.com —for Jazz Nation to monitor as we inch closer to summer's end and the beginning of when things start to coalesce. 

• Aug. 7: USA vs. Puerto Rico (Las Vegas, NV)
• Aug. 11-12: Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend (Springfield, MA)
• Aug. 12: USA vs. Slovenia (Malaga, Spain)
• Aug. 13: USA vs. Spain (Malaga, Spain)
• Aug. 18: USA vs. Greece (Abu Dhabi, UAE)
• Aug. 20: USA vs. Germany (Abu Dhabi, UAE)
• Aug. 25 – Sept. 10: 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup (Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia)
• Sept.29: First allowable date for players participating in preseason games outside North America to report to their teams (no earlier than 11 a.m. local time)
• Sept. 30: Training Camps open for all teams participating in preseason games outside North America
• Oct. 2: First allowable date for all other veteran players to report to their teams (no earlier than 11 a.m. local time)
• Oct. 3: NBA Training Camps open
• Oct. 5: NBA Preseason games begin
• Oct. 5 & 7: NBA Abu Dhabi Games, Dallas Mavericks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, (Abu Dhabi, UAE)
• Oct. 8: NBA Canada Series presented by Bell, Toronto Raptors vs. Sacramento Kings (Vancouver, Canada)
• Oct. 12: NBA Canada Series presented by Bell, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Detroit Pistons (Montreal, Canada)
• Oct. 20: NBA Preseason ends
• Oct. 23: Rosters set for NBA Opening Day (5 p.m. ET)
• Oct. 24: Start of the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season
• Oct. 28: NBA G League Draft
• Oct. 30 – Nov. 9: NBA G League Training Camp

We'll leave it there for now. These dates get Jazz fans all the way up to the tip-off of the 2023-24 regular season and the NBA G League draft. 

This coming season promises to be an intriguing one as Will Hardy leads the Jazz into Year 2 as head coach, with the lion's share of the Ainge rebuild in the books. The time soon comes for the Jazz to make good on Ainge's best-laid plans.
