As fans saw the NBA Las Vegas Summer League come and go, the Utah Jazz decided to sit out their 9th-overall selection of Taylor Hendricks for each of the five games played. The emergence of Keyonte George tended to take some of the spotlights away from his lack of availability, but it is disappointing not seeing your top-10 pick take the floor.

All is well for the future outlook of Taylor though, as he gave some assurance that he will be ready to go for the season ahead. Hendricks tells Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune (subscription required) he is looking ahead to training camp and expecting to be fully healthy.

"I will say I feel pretty good right now. It’s just, you know, I don’t feel 100%, so we didn’t really want to push anything and force Summer League play, and then have to worry about me being out for training camp. But right now I feel good. And I’ll be ready for training camp."

He may still not be ready to take the court at this point in the offseason, but those limitations should not be of concern in the long term. Training camp and preseason are scheduled to take place in October later this year. Therefore, there is plenty of time for the Jazz rookie to prepare for his first season in the league.

Hendricks further described the kind of work he has been focusing on during his rehab on and off the court, despite missing out on the action earlier this July.

"Right now, I’m doing cardio on the treadmill and stuff, and doing some on-court workouts like shooting, ball-handling, and doing upper-body workouts and things like that...I kind of [wanted] to get out there and contribute, just be on the floor and try to get my feet wet a little. But it’s all for good measure in the future."

While the Jazz rook continues to work towards hitting the floor at full strength, fans must wait patiently for a few months to see the top-10 pick in action.
