Oddsmakers Reveal Jazz’s Lauri Markkanen’s Chances for 3-Point Contest

The Utah Jazz forward is looking to redeem himself from last year's appearance on Saturday night.

The 2024 NBA All-Star festivities are finally underway in Indianapolis. With Friday's Rising Stars and Celebrity Game in the books, the long-anticipated Saturday night events have arrived. Among all the festivities taking place tonight, the most exciting may be the Starry 3-Point Contest.

It's especially true when considering the Utah Jazz's own Lauri Markkanen will be competing in the competition. While he came up just a bit short during last year's attempt, this second chance presents a new opportunity for the seven-year league vet to shine.

The odds for the Starry 3-Point Contest were unveiled on DraftKings ahead of the event on Saturday:

Damian Lillard: +425

Tyrese Haliburton: +450

Trae Young: +600

Malik Beasley: +650

Lauri Markkanen: +650

Karl-Anthony Towns: +650

Jalen Brunson: +650

Donovan Mitchell: +700

Markkanen ends up tied for the fourth-best odds on the night at +650, with Lillard, Haliburton, and Young being the only names ahead of him. Last year, Lauri was eventually eliminated from the contest behind his home crowd after dropping a score of 20 in the first round. This year marks a chance for redemption.

Lillard was crowned during last year's three-point contest hosted in Salt Lake City, followed behind the Indiana Pacers duo of Haliburton and Buddy Hield in the finals. Now, Markkanen will have the chance to be crowned the champion in Indianapolis a year later.

The Starry 3-Point Contest will take place on TNT come Saturday at 6 PM MT at Lucas Oil Stadium.
