The second big domino falls in as many days for the Utah Jazz. Talen Horton-Tucker has opted in and will be suiting up in Salt Lake City for the 2023-24 season. Brian Windhorst broke the news Tuesday night.

“Talen Horton-Tucker is opting into his $11 million deal with the Utah Jazz for next season, agent Rich Paul says,” Windhorst tweeted.

'THT’ kept Jazz fans in suspense due to bursting onto the scene after Mike Conley was traded and Collin Sexton suffered a hamstring injury right before the All-Star break.

In the month of May, Horton-Tucker averaged 18.1 ppg while dishing out 7.1 assists. It was a small sample size, but it was enough to keep Jazz fans guessing if a bigger deal was out there waiting in the open free-agent market.

But when the rubber met the road, one in the hand was worth two in the bush, and Horton-Tucker will be betting on himself this upcoming season.

This is good news for the Jazz. Although he may be a little rough around the edges, Horton-Tucker has one of the highest ceilings on the roster. Standing at 6-foot-4 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, the former Iowa State standout can be a matchup nightmare for opponents due to his size and elite athleticism.

The Jazz will now be able to roll the dice on a player that may or may not be the point guard of the future.
