Jazz Finalize Coaching Staff for 2023-24 Season
The Utah Jazz have finalized the coaching staff for the 2023-24 season. Heading into the year, Utah will have four new coaches due to the departure of Irv Roland, Bryan Bailey, Alex Jensen, and Sanjay Lumpkin.
Chad Forcier, Rick Higgins, Scott Morrison, and Mike Williams will join Jazz head coach Will Hardy in his second year in Salt Lake City. Let’s take a deeper dive into the profiles of Utah’s newest members.
Mike Williams
Williams most recently was the head coach of the Capital City Go-Go before signing on with Utah back in June. Prior to being promoted to head coach, Williams spent time as a player development assistant for the Washington Wizards and also worked with the Erie Bayhawks G League team of the Orlando Magic. Hardy is staying consistent in bringing in a younger group of coaches, as Williams is just 27 years old.
Chad Forcier
The Milwaukee Bucks were Forcier’s last employer, where he was an assistant under Mike Budenholzer. Forcier brings some championship pedigree to the table. In 2014, he was an assistant with the San Antonio Spurs and again, in 2021, with the Bucks. Forceir’s coaching career spans over 20 years and seven different NBA teams.
Rick Higgins
This will be Higgins's fourth NBA team he’s been a part of over the last eleven years. Higgins started his coaching career with the Charlotte Bobcats, but more recently was an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets under Stephen Silas.
Scott Morrison
Morrison coached the Salt Lake City Stars last season before being promoted to Hardy’s staff with the Jazz. Jazz fans might be familiar with Morrison if they watched this year's Summer League. Morrison led the Jazz to a 4-1 record, tying for third place. Hardy worked with Morrison during his tenure with the Boston Celtics in 2021.
The four fresh faces will join Jason Terry, Evan Bradds, Chris Jones, Lamar Skeeter, and Sean Sheldon for the 2023-24 season.
