Jazz Get Devin Booker Injury Update Ahead of Suns Matchup
The Utah Jazz will be looking to string consecutive wins together when they face the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. The Jazz will catch a break on the injury front, with Phoenix missing two key players.
Suns starter Bradley Beal (back) will miss his third straight game, and Devin Booker (foot) has also been ruled out. As for the Jazz, point guard Collin Sexton (wrist) is probable.
Despite being hit by the injury bug, the Suns are still a 5.5-point favorite heading into the contest. Led by future Hall-of-Famer Kevin Durant, Phoenix still has plenty of firepower to come away with the win.
Utah will be looking to carry the momentum of Friday night's 120-118 win over the Los Angeles Clippers into Phoenix. Led by Lauri Markkanen, the Jazz squeezed out the victory in the final seconds. Jazz head coach Will Hardy took note of the effort that his players provided in the game that made the difference.
“That’s a really gritty win for our team. If we play that hard every night, we’re going to be a tough team to play against,” Hardy said.
Hardy will continue to tinker with his rotation as he attempts to determine which combinations work best.
Against the Clippers, Hardy started Talen Horton-Tucker and Walker Kessler but chose a different route to end the game, with Kelly Olynyk and Kris Dunn on the court.
The decision ended up paying off, thanks to Olynyk knocking down two clutch three-pointers down the stretch. Moving forward, it appears Hardy will make his decisions on the fly regarding which players will close out the game.
The tip-off is at 8:00 MST on Saturday night.
