Jazz-Kings Injury Report: Lauri Markkanen & De’Aaron Fox Update

The Utah Jazz will be looking to make three in a row when they face the Sacramento Kings.

The Utah Jazz look to make it three in a row when they face off against the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center. Both teams will be missing some key contributors heading into the contest.

The Jazz will be without Jordan Clarkson (thigh), John Collins (illness), Keyonte George (foot), Talen Horton-Tucker, Omer Surtseven (illness) and Luka Samanic (illness). Lauri Markkanen (hamstring) has been taken off the injury report and will play. As for the Kings, De’Aaron Fox (shoulder) is questionable.

Despite being bit by the injury bug early and often, the Jazz have shown life over the last two contests. Convincing wins over the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers has given Jazz fans hope that the season may still be salvageable.

The driving force behind Utah’s surge has been Collin Sexton. Since being inserted in the starting lineup, Sexton has averaged 26.5 points on 60% from the field.

The two-game sample size may be small, but Sexton has always been a dynamic scorer. The Injuries to Clarkson and George have given Sexton an opportunity to show head coach Will Hardy that he deserves starting minutes moving forward.

The other player that’s stood out this last week is Kris Dunn. Although buried at the back of the bench to begin the season, Dunn is showing Utah’s front office he deserves more time on the court.

Over a three-game span, Dunn is averaging 6.3 assists in just 23 minutes a game. More impressively, he’s only turned the ball over once in that stretch. However, Utah still ranks last in the league in that department, giving up 17.3 turnovers a game.

The tip-off is at 8:00 p.m. MST.
