Will Hardy After Jazz Win vs. Mavs: ‘A Really, Really Well-Played Game'
After an embarrassing 50-point loss in their last matchup against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks earlier this season, the Utah Jazz returned the favor on Monday in a 37-point victory, 127-90, to even the season series 1-1.
By dominating on both ends of the floor, this W keeps this Jazz team surging from a sluggish season start, getting closer and closer to that coveted Play-In spot. As of January 2nd, Utah only sits two games back of the 10th seed in the West, sitting right behind the 15-17 Golden State Warriors and 17-17 Los Angeles Lakers.
Will Hardy spoke at the podium after Utah's convincing win, applauding the effort and performance up and down the roster.
“Obviously, just a really, really well-played game by our whole team,” Hardy voiced. "I thought, defensively, we did a really good job guarding two players that are really tough to cover... Offensively, 37 assists. I mean, that’s who we’re trying to be. The ball was really moving around."
The Jazz were able to facilitate extremely effectively on Monday night. Of course, Jordan Clarkson led the way with his 11 assists. We also saw guys like Kris Dunn, Collin Sexton, and Kelly Olynyk moving the ball extremely well, as they all totaled over six assists.
Hardy continued in the presser to feed some more praise to Clarkson’s historic night, grabbing the first Jazz regular-season triple-double since the 2008 NBA season.
“JC is a big part of our team,” Hardy said. "He sometimes unnecessarily catches some heat when he doesn’t play great. But, the way that he operates in our locker room with his teammates, with the coaching staff, he’s a big part of the fiber of the team here... He came back tonight. Obviously, had a spectacular game. First triple-double here since ’08. I say that like you guys don’t know that already."
The Jazz continue their hot streak with this home victory, catching wins in eight of their last eleven games. If Utah can continue moving the ball effectively and keep finding production deep into their rotation, this team will remain competitive against their competition on a nightly basis.
Their next matchup is set for Wednesday night back in Salt Lake City, as the Jazz will face off against the Detroit Pistons at 7 PM MT.
