Clippers Star Kawhi Leonard Ruled Out Against Kings
The Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers face off on Tuesday night to settle their season series, which the Clippers lead 2-1. In their two wins, Los Angeles' superstar forward Kawhi Leonard has averaged 32 points on an incredible 78% shooting, as the Kings have struggled to find an answer for the two-time NBA Finals MVP.
Luckily for Sacramento, the Clippers have ruled Leonard out for Tuesday's matchup due to right knee soreness. Despite an injury-prone narrative that follows Leonard, this will be just his seventh game missed this season and third of 2024.
The Kings tend to struggle against teams without their best player this season, and the Clippers will be no exception. Los Angeles is still a talented squad with nine-time All-Star Paul George and ten-time All-Star James Harden leading the way, with star sixth man Normal Powell filling in for Leonard.
Tuesday's matchup against Los Angeles is the start of a tough three-game stretch for the Kings, as they head to the East to take on the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics after hosting the Clippers.
The Kings sit in eighth place in the West, and catching a break with an inactive Leonard could be what this shorthanded Sacramento squad needs. With Kevin Huerter out for the season and Malik Monk out for four to six weeks, the Kings need every win they can get.
The Kings and Clippers tip off Tuesday night at 7 PM PT.
