After winning just three of their last eight games, the Sacramento Kings head into the final few games of the season on an undesired cold streak. While those five losses have all come against strong teams, the Kings must prove they can win those types of games if they want a chance in the playoffs. The Kings need to get back in the win column, even though their chances of escaping the play-in tournament have dwindled.

After battling through a four-game road trip, the Kings return home to host the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night on national television. The Kings have struggled against the Pelicans more than any other team, as New Orleans leads their season series 4-0 with an average margin of victory of 21 points.

Pelicans' Brandon Ingram has shined in those matchups, scoring 30+ twice, but the star forward has missed the last ten games and is set to miss Thursday's matchup in Sacramento as well.

Both teams have released their Injury Reports ahead of their fifth matchup of the season:

Sacramento Kings:

Kevin Huerter - OUT (shoulder)

Malik Monk - OUT (knee)

Keegan Murray - QUESTIONABLE (calf)

Jordan Ford - QUESTIONABLE (hip)

New Orleans Pelicans:

Brandon Ingram - OUT (knee)

Naji Marshall - QUESTIONABLE (shoulder)

The Kings will remain without Kevin Huerter, who underwent season-ending shoulder surgery, and Malik Monk, who suffered a sprained MCL two weeks ago. Sacramento's star sophomore Keegan Murray is listed on the report for the second consecutive game with left calf soreness. The talented wing suited up for Tuesday's game and should be expected to play through it again on Thursday.

The Kings, in eighth place, and the Pelicans, in sixth place, sit just two games apart with three remaining. While it is unlikely for the Kings to jump into sixth before the season ends, they have the opportunity to play spoiler on Thursday and hurt New Orleans' chances of dodging the play-in tournament.

The Kings and Pelicans tip off at 7 PM PT on TNT.
