Kings-Suns Injury Report Revealed Ahead of Daunting Back-to-Back
Amid a losing stretch, the Sacramento Kings are set to take on the Phoenix Suns in their second-to-last game of the regular season.
With the Play-In tournament shortly, the Kings may be looking at a possible opponent, depending on how the Western Conference standings shake out this weekend.
Mike Brown’s crew have lost four of their last five games to finish out the season, creating a tie in the standings between 8th and 10th place. Friday night’s battle will be a true test of whether the Kings are built for playoff basketball.
Looking at the injury report, both teams are at full strength — aside from a few season-ending injuries.
Sacramento Kings
Malik Monk - OUT (MCL Sprain)
Kevin Huerter - OUT (Torn Labrum)
Phoenix Suns
Damion Lee - OUT (Meniscus)
Looking at the opponent first, Phoenix will only be missing Damion Lee, a guard who’s been out for the entire season. A preseason surgery has kept him sidelined for the 2023-24 year.
On the Kings’ side, they’ll be without key offensive-minded guards Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter. Both players succumbed to the injury bug after the All-Star break, causing a dip in Sacramento’s offensive production.
Guard Keon Ellis will continue to start in place of Kevin Huerter, and look for backup point guard Davion Mitchell to garner some minutes in place of Malik Monk after putting up a solid performance against the Pelicans on Thursday night.
The Kings will aim to claim a win in the second leg of a back-to-back on Friday night, with tip-off set for 7:30 PM PT.
