The Sacramento Kings look like a new franchise after their previous season, which saw them finish on top of the Pacific Division, garnering the third seed in the West. That success is largely due to the acquisition of All-Star C Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers in a deal that shipped out G Tyrese Haliburton and G Buddy Hield.

Hield, 30, spent six seasons with the Kings before being packaged to Indianapolis. Wednesday, announced that the Pacers and Hield are working to find a trade for the seven-year veteran, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Hield averaged 16.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game last season with the Pacers, playing in 80 games and starting in 73. Buddy's last full season in Sacramento saw him average 15.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while largely coming off the bench.

Hield is entering the last year of his contract and is set to earn over $19 million this season. Trade talks are not imminent, but there is reportedly interest from a number of teams. The Pacers and Hield were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension this offseason, which led to the agreement to shop for a trade before Hield enters free agency ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season.
