The Sacramento Kings have been an unfortunate early victim to the injury bug, as All-NBA G De’Aaron Fox suffered an ankle sprain on the third game of the season against the Los Angeles Lakers. It’s forced him out of five straight games in a stretch where the team has collected a 2-3 record.
The Kings could use their franchise guard back on the court, and it seems like we could be inching closer to seeing that happen. Fox fully returned to practice on Sunday, showing significant signs of progress when it comes to getting back to full health.

Kings HC Mike Brown spoke with Sean Cunningham of FOX40 on the status of Fox’s return, and what he looks for in a practice in terms of finding the right time for a return to action.
“He looked good. No timetable, we’ll see how he feels today, and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow. So, no timetable, but he looked good today...I always like a guy whenever he’s been out for a significant time, through this or that, or injury, or whatever, for him to get a contact practice in or something contact-wise. I’d like to watch that. But, other than that, he okays it, our medical team okays it, the doctor okays it, usually, I’ll be on board."
While we don’t have a date set in stone for Fox to get back on the floor, things are certainly moving in a positive direction. Maintaining health is a number one priority for NBA Finals-level teams, so the sooner we see De’Aaron back, the better.
Fox will have his next chance to get back on the floor when the 4-4 Kings take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday at 7 PM MT in the Golden One Center.
