Coming off a statement win over the Denver Nuggets, the Sacramento Kings marched to the Paycom Center to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite heading in with a bit of momentum, the Kings were handily taken down 123-113.

Oklahoma City was led by their star duo of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 38 points and Jalen Williams with 32 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists. Nobody in Sacramento could have traveled to Oklahoma and effectively guarded Gilgeous-Alexander, even the young, talented Kings.

The Kings were led by Domantas Sabonis, who notched another triple-double with 21 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds, furthering his lead for most in the league with 17. Sixth Man of the Year candidate Malik Monk led Sacramento in scoring with 26 points, knocking down six of ten attempts from deep.

While it would have been great for the Kings to pull off the road win, Mike Brown must ensure his squad can move forward with a tough stretch ahead of them. After they leave Oklahoma City, the Kings have road games against the Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets (2x), Los Angeles Clippers, and Minnesota Timberwolves, all by March 1st.

With a Western Conference gauntlet ahead of them, the Kings cannot afford to hang their heads on the losses.
