Kings HC Mike Brown Reaches Career Milestone in Win vs. Cavaliers

Mike Brown picked up his 400th career win after taking down the Cavaliers as he continues to climb up the NBA head coaching ladder.

While the Sacramento Kings were able to celebrate an emphatic win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, the game had more meaning behind it than fans realized. Kings HC Mike Brown reached his 400th career win as an NBA head coach, joining the likes of just 52 other coaches in history.

The reigning NBA Coach of the Year has proven to be one of the best offensive coaches in league history, as the 2022-23 Kings broke the record for best offensive rating by a team ever.

The team could not have been more excited for Brown to pick up his 400th career win as they celebrated in the locker room with style.

Brown is a top-tier coach in the league and has the hardware to prove it, but had this to say after reaching this career milestone (via @SacramentoKings | X):

"You feel blessed, lucky, fortunate to be around quality people and people that, obviously, play at a high level, perform at a high level, and are good people too. And, you know, you're able to be a part of it. And with me being the head coach, I get the recognition, but it has a lot to do with all the people that are around me."

Brown reached this career milestone against Cleveland, the first franchise to give him a chance as a head coach. Brown was the head coach of the Cavaliers for five years, reaching one NBA Finals and leading two 60+ win seasons. This full-circle moment for Brown must be surreal.

Kings G De'Aaron Fox returned to action on Monday after missing five consecutive games due to an ankle injury. Fox led the team with 28 points, but his teammates stepping up impressed the most.

All-Star C Domantas Sabonis had one of his best games of the season with 23 points, ten assists, nine rebounds, and two blocks on an efficient 8-10 from the field. Sharpshooting duo F Keegan Murray and G Kevin Huerter looked significantly better than they did in Fox's absence, shooting a combined 11-17 from three-point range.

The Kings stepped up to get Brown his 400th career win, but a championship has to be the next milestone on their minds.
