The Sacramento Kings have had inconsistencies within the bench rotation, but after converting two-way guard Keon Ellis to a standard three-year contract, they seem to be trying to nail down what the bench will look like going forward.

The Ellis signing came after the Kings struck out at the trade deadline, resulting in acquiring Robin Lopez from the Milwaukee Bucks, just to waive him hours later. The open roster spot was calling Ellis' name for months after the 24-year-old did an exceptional job as a backup point guard earlier in the season.

Since the Kings gave Ellis the final spot on the 15-man roster, a two-way spot freed up, resulting in the recent signing of Mason Jones from their G League affiliate in Stockton, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Jones, 25, has played 12 games for Stockton this season, averaging 13.3 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds on impressively efficient 58.1/52.4/73.7 splits. The 6'4" guard averaged over 22 points per game in each of his previous two G League seasons, shooting above 50% from the field and 40% from deep in both years.

Jones has spent time with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Philadelphia 76ers, appearing in a combined 36 games through two seasons. The young guard has proven he can play at a high level, regardless of the competition, and it should be a treat to see what he can do with Sacramento.
