Kings Set for Rematch Against Warriors During 2023-24 NBA Opening Week

The Sacramento Kings will have a prime opportunity to get revenge against their division rivals.

The last time we saw the Sacramento Kings take the floor, it came with a heart-breaking Game 7 loss in the first round of this past year’s playoffs to the Golden State Warriors. Now, the Kings will be looking to seek some vengeance against their division rivals within one of their opening night games of the 2023-24 NBA season.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Kings and Warriors will face off on October 27th during the league’s opening week. The game also forecasts to be nationally televised, giving the Kings some rare early national TV placement during the season. After having just five total national TV games coming into last year, Sacramento is already looking at some stark improvement in recognition.

The Kings did not exactly fare the best when it came to matching up against Golden State during the last regular season, as they maintained a record of 1-3 throughout the course of the year. Looking for even more redemption fresh off of their competitive seven-game series, this is the perfect time to find it.

New additions such as Sasha Vezenkov, Colby Ross, and Chris Duarte should be valuable additions to the Kings’ offseason reload of talent. When facing off against a trigger-happy Warriors team, you have to be able to stack up with their shooting and floor spacing. The Kings can do so.

This is the second of the dates announced for a game between the Kings and Warriors, with another coming later in the year during the NBA’s new In-Season Tournament finale in November. The rest of the NBA schedule releasing Thursday can keep Kings fans eagerly waiting to see when and where their squad will be playing.

Coming off their notoriously red-hot season as the 3-seed in the Western Conference, the Kings will look to build upon their previous successes to take down Stephen Curry and Co.
