All Records Broken By Kings' Keegan Murray in Historic Win vs. Jazz
The Sacramento Kings defended home court in a 125-104 win over the Utah Jazz on Saturday night. Although All-Star De'Aaron Fox was sidelined, Sacramento took care of business thanks to a career-best game from rising star Keegan Murray. Murray's 47-point performance is a new career-high and the most scored in a game by a King this season.
While the Kings got the win, Murray was the talk of the town Saturday night. The sophomore forward broke multiple franchise records in his breakout game, including an accolade that most NBA players do not come close to.
Here are some of the records broken by Murray in his 47-point outing:
- Most three-pointers made in a game by a King (12)
- Most points scored in a quarter by a King (26)
- Most three-pointers made in a quarter by a King (7)
- Youngest NBA player to make 12+ three-pointers in a game (23-119)
- Most efficient 12+ three-pointers game in NBA history (69.6%)
- Youngest King to make 10+ three-pointers in a game (23-119)
- Most consecutive three-pointers made in a game (11)
Murray's historical night was full of accolades, putting the league on notice. With Murray's name circulating trade rumors recently, the 47-point outing should have put that talk to bed. If the Kings had not viewed Murray as an untouchable before, his historic game should have put him in that conversation.
The rising star already broke the record for most three-pointers made in a rookie season with 206, so setting marks is not new to Murray.
The Kings are now 3-3 with Fox sidelined, as Murray averaged 26.7 points in the three wins without his All-Star point guard. Sacramento moves to 16-1 when Murray scores 20+ points, as the Kings have certainly found their third star next to Fox and Domantas Sabonis.
Murray looks more like an NBA star every game as the 23-year-old wing continues to develop on both sides of the ball.
