NBA Playoffs: New York Knicks Trending Wrong Way Due to Injuries?
The New York Knicks have been bitten by the injury bug late in the season, and with the NBA Playoffs coming soon, the team needs to get those guys back soon.
In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley, he outlines five teams that are trending the wrong way at the wrong time, and he believes that the Knicks are one of those teams.
"The Knicks will hopefully get healthy at some point, but it isn't clear when any of Anunoby, Randle, or Robinson will return to action. And who knows how they'll look after lengthy layoffs," Buckley writes. "Hope isn't entirely lost for this team, but its uphill climb toward championship contention has no doubt steepened in this stretch."
Despite all of the injuries to the team, the Knicks have won six of their last seven games. But if the team is going to be able to play its best, then it needs its players back, and forward Josh Hart knows that.
"Take four starters, six rotation guys out of any lineup in the league and they're going to struggle," Hart told reporters. "I don't care if they're Boston with the best record, or Detroit or Washington with the worst record. If you take that many guys out at the same time you're going to struggle."
If the team can get its guys back and get back on the same page, then they could be poised to make some noise in the postseason.
The Knicks will be back in action on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG).
