A Knicks Guide to the NBA Draft's Point Guards: Lottery Edition
Two statements regarding the 2020 NBA Draft class that I make often when doing individual prospect breakdowns (the latest of which you can read here) or any kind of draft analysis are that this class is relatively weak and that the Knicks should take the best player available regardless of where in the lottery their pick lands. I've also mentioned before that if the Knicks were to disregard the "BPA" drafting philosophy and instead prioritize positional need, point guard is probably the position to do something like that for, and this is probably one of the better years to be doing so simply because of the lack of separation between this year's lottery prospects.
There are five point guards I believe should be taken in this fall's NBA Draft's lottery range, whom I will list here along with a link to my individual prospect breakdown about them, each of which will include a Knicks-perspective on the player.
1. LaMelo Ball, Illawarra Hawks
2. Killian Hayes, Ratiopharm Ulm
5. Tyrese Haliburton, Iowa St.
Watch the video up top to learn my thoughts on these five point guards, which includes but is not limited to: why I have them ranked in the order I do, what I project each of their NBA roles to look like, how I think they'd fit on the Knicks, and whether or not the Knicks should look to utilize their lottery pick on bringing them to New York.
