LA Clippers Clobber New York Knicks in Follow-Up to Jalen Brunson's 50-Point Game

The New York Knicks' California dream became a nightmare on Saturday night, as they were demolished by the Los Angeles Clippers in the first game after Jalen Brunson's half-century tally.

The New York Knicks once again flirted with history in the immediate follow-up to Jalen Brunson's 50-point masterpiece. Alas for New York, such courting came in the defensive ineptitude variety.

Seven Los Angeles Clippers reached double-figures against the Knicks on Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena en route to a 144-122 victory.

Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 36 in the win as New York (14-11) gave up at least 140 points for the second time this month, previously doing so on Dec. 5 against Milwaukee. The Clippers (15-10), who enjoyed double-doubles from James Harden (12 assists, 10 points) and Ivica Zubac (13 points, 11 rebounds), extended their winning streak to seven games, the longest active string on the NBA ledgers.

The Knicks will stay in Los Angeles for their next game, closing out the West Coast portion of their five-game trip on Monday night against the Lakers (10:30 p.m. ET, MSG).
