Frozen 4th vs. LeBron, Lakers Deny Knicks 10th Straight Win
Madison Square Garden once again took in the efforts of a King on Saturday night. Alas for Manhattan, former New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was nowhere to be found.
LeBron James conquered the New York Knicks' nine-game winning streak, as his Los Angeles Lakers took home a 113-105 decision in a nationally-televised interconference tilt. James, whose future has captured the metropolitan imagination, led LA with 24 points while fellow headliner Anthony Davis hauled in 18 rebounds.
Despite 34 points from Jalen Brunson, the Knicks (32-18) failed to generate their first 10-game winning streak since 2013, forced to split their yearly pair with the purple and gold. New York saved the worst for last, notably going nearly seven full minutes without a point in the final period thanks to a shutdown defensive effort paced by Davis.
