WATCH: Knicks Ex Carmelo Anthony, Son Kiyan Do 1-on-1 Battle

Former New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is helping get his son ready for life in the college basketball world.

In The City That Never Sleeps, time doesn't seem to be stopping either.

It seems like only a few seasons ago that former New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony was dropping 62 points at Madison Square Garden against the Charlotte Bobcats or would catch fire with three 40-point games over a six-day span just a few weeks later.

However, it's been nearly a decade since those days.

But now in retirement, Anthony is playing one-on-one with his son, Kiyan, and not on a Little Tikes hoop. For his son's own good, Melo doesn't seem to be taking it easy either. The father-son duo were recently seen hooping at The Arena at Summit indoor court in New York, a small indoor playing area that many celebrities have frequented for pick-up games over the past several years.

Even with his dad up in his grill to contest the shot, Kiyan hit some impressive jumpers from NBA range. Unsurprisingly, Melo, the ninth-leading scorer in Association history (28,289 points), got his share of buckets as well.

It's a short clip (h/t Big Knick Energy) from a fun game with his dad, but it's clear why Kiyan is receiving offers from some of college basketball's top programs.

A member of the 2025 recruiting class, the Long Island Lutheran (Glen Head, N.Y.) shooting guard has drawn attention from schools like Michigan, Memphis, Florida State, Tennessee, Seton Hall, Illinois, and his father's alma mater Syracuse, along with many more. Per 247Sports' rankings, Kiyan is a four-star recruit and the No. 1 shooting guard in the state.

He still has a lot of time to decide where he wants to play college ball. Luckily, that means more chances to get some reps against NBA loyalty (a.k.a. Dad) before matching up against the top college players in the country.
