Jalen Brunson's 2023-24 season has already featured his first All-Star Game invite and he may be closing in on first All-NBA team. But is this season a stepping stone to something even greater for the New Yor Knicks point guard?

With the latest Basketball Hall of Fame inductees announced this week, Dan Favale of Bleacher Report listed an active player that could join Dick Barnett, Chauncey Billups and more in Springfield. The Knicks' nominee was Brunson, currently working through his second season in New York.

"Brunson is an oddball candidate relative to the field," Favale writes. "He just secured his first All-Star selection and is tracking toward his first All-NBA nod at the age of 27. But this season of firsts could be marked by a top-five finish on the MVP ballot... Brunson may have cannonballed into superstar waters late, but entering them at all changes everything."

Brunson has changed the Knicks' fortunes since joining up in 2022, averaging 26.2 points and 6.5 assists in this season and last. With Brunson in tow, the Knicks are closing in on consecutive playoff berths for the first time since 2011-13 and last season saw them win their first series in a decade. The Knicks obviously hope Brunson has plenty of time left in his career but there's no doubt he has set himself on a solid path.

The next chance for Brunson to continue making his Hall of Fame case lands on Tuesday when they continue a road trip against the Chicago Bulls (8 p.m. ET, MSG).
