WATCH: Knicks' Josh Hart Flubs Peloton Instructor 'Audition'
Just because Josh Hart is capable of working overtime, probably doesn't mean he should.
Hart has taken on extended duties for the New York Knicks over the past month-plus, leaping into the starting lineup to make up for injured firepower and starting a well-received podcast with past/present teammate Jalen Brunson. The veteran apparently attempted to further pad his resume in the exercise game ... albeit with self-admitted subpar results.
Interactive exercise equipment company Peloton posted a satirical video of Hart auditioning for the right to be one of their video instructors. Hart certainly doesn't lack the enthusiasm or volume ("As Bill Walton said, motion is lotion!") required for the role, but the pace and adherence to a supposed script, on the other hand, appeared to trip him up.
"I don't know how they do this now!" Hart said, having difficulties with his script. "I've got more respect for (instructors) now. They don't be messing up or nothing!"

Pelton products, such as staionary bikes, rowers, and treadmills, can be connected to the internet for a monthly fee that allows users to work in a group with a trainer from a remote setting. A 2021 report from Courtney Rubin of The Hollywood Reporter referred to Peloton as "The Netflix of Wellness," one capable of creating 19 new classes a day in its broadcasting centers, one of which is based in New York.
No one's more excited to see Hart "fail" his audition than the Knicks, who have come to rely upon him to keep pace in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt. Thrust into the starting five thanks to injuries to OG Anunoby and Julius Randle, Hart has averaged 13.1 points and 11.2 rebounds over the last 20 games, four of which have earned triple-doubles. Hart is expected to be a major part of the Knicks' future fortunes, as next season is set to tip off a four-year contract extension.
'Appreciate It!' Hart Benched A Rebound Short of Historic Box Score
Conditioning on his Peloton has likely come through big for both Hart and the Knicks: since Jan. 29, only one player (Miles Bridges of Charlotte) has played more minutes than Hart, who has 815 over his last 20 games.
Hart will look to continue making a difference on Saturday night when the Knicks face the Sacramento Kings (10 p.m. ET, MSG).
