Kaseya Center's scoreboard wasn't the only proof of a New York Knicks loss on Saturday afternoon in Miami.

The Knicks' medical report featured an equally dangerous casualty as the team fell behind 2-1 in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the Miami Heat. Immanuel Quickley left the game with an ankle injury during a mostly meaningless fourth quarter that was mostly a formality as the Miami Heat rolled to a 105-86 victory.

After the game, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau said that Quickley sustained a sprained ankle after a loose ball encounter with Miami's Bam Adebayo. A day of observation led Thibodeau to label Quickley "day-to-day," per Fred Katz of The Athletic, as the Knicks prepare for a potential equalizer in South Beach (7:30 p.m. ET, TNT).

[[UPDATE: 5/7/23, 5:00 p.m. ET]]: The Knicks have officially labeled Quickley as doubtful for Monday's game.

Quickley has struggled to maintain the regular season production that saw him finish in the runner-up spot in the Sixth Man of the Year voting. In eight games, he's averaging nine points and only 1.6 rebounds and shooting less than 35 percent from the field. He was 4-of-12 yesterday before his medically-induced exit.

The reserve point guard told Brian Lewis of the New York Post that while his ankle "hurt a lot," he labeled the encounter with Adebayo "part of the game."

Injuries have defined the ongoing series between the Knicks and Heat: New York's victory came when the Heat didn't have the services of postseason superstar Jimmy Butler in Game 2, which saw them welcome back All-Star Julius Randle to the fold after he missed the opener. Jalen Brunson has dealt with ankle soreness throughout the series while Butler returned to pace the Heat with 28 points in the Game 3 victory on Saturday. Miami is already confirmed to be missing Tyler Herro and Victor Oladipo for the rest of its postseason run.
