NBA Trade Rumors: Raptors' Pascal Siakam to Knicks?

Pascal Siakam has been thrown around in trade rumors this summer. Could the New York Knicks acquire the Toronto Raptors' All-Star?
In this story:

The New York Knicks could look to make an upgrade in their frontcourt sometime this offseason.

Among the top forwards on the trade market is Toronto Raptors All-Star Pascal Siakam, who has just one year left on his deal before hitting free agency next summer. Siakam's expiring contract makes him a valuable trade candidate, prompting Yossi Gozlan of HoopsHype to list the Knicks as one of four top destinations should a deal be made.

"(The) Knicks have been accumulating assets for several years now and are ready to cash in their chips on the right All-Star," HoopsHype writes. "They can trade up to four of their own first-round picks, and four owed to them by other teams. They also have several talented young players like RJ Barrett ($23.9 million), Immanuel Quickley ($4.2 million), and Quentin Grimes ($2.4 million) that could interest the Raptors."

Siakam, 29, averaged a career-high 24.2 points per game this past season, making his second All-Star appearance in seven NBA campaigns with the Raptors.

It remains to be seen what a Siakam and Julius Randle frontcourt looks like, but it could give opposing teams fits. There's also a world where the team trades Randle in a three-team deal or a separate transaction.

Making a trade like this would be a roll of the dice for the Knicks, especially because Siakam doesn't guarantee that this team will improve and make it to the Eastern Conference Finals or beyond. However, if the price is right, it may be worth it after all for a Knicks team eager for help in the post following the trade of Obi Toppin.
