NBA Power Rankings: Knicks Sliding After Losing Streak?

The New York Knicks went 0-3 last week. Where does that place them in this week's power rankings?

The New York Knicks are a few steps away from the NBA playoffs, but this past week felt more like a limp than a sprint.

Before last night's blowout win against the Houston Rockets, the Knicks were riding a three-game losing streak, dropping games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, and Orlando Magic. That skid cost the Knicks three spots in Sports Illustrated's latest NBA power rankings, moving from No. 7 to 10.

"New York is on its second three-game losing streak of March after it lost to the Timberwolves at home and went winless on a two-game trip to Florida," SI writes. "Julius Randle scored a career-high 57 against Minnesota, the third-most points in franchise history, and the Knicks still lost by six."

"Randle followed up his big night with just 15 points in a loss to the Heat, and Jalen Brunson (hand) was out for the five-point loss to the Magic."

The Knicks (43-33) appeared to bounce back after getting things right against the Rockets and hope to continue the winning ways against the Heat at Madison Square Garden tomorrow night (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG). On Friday, the Knicks meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in a likely playoff preview on the road before returning home Sunday night to face former franchise face Kristaps Porzingis and the Washington Wizards.
