Who Should Play For Knicks Summer League Squad?

The New York Knicks' Summer League team is beginning to take shape.

With the NBA Draft out of the way, Las Vegas Summer League is just around the corner.

The New York Knicks made it all the way to the championship game a year ago but fell to the Portland Trail Blazers in the championship final.

Without any draft picks this year, the Knicks' Summer League roster won't be clear-cut. HoopsHype has already confirmed that two-way signee Jacob Toppin, Indiana undrafted free agent Race Thompson and Overtime Elite guard Jaylen Martin will be on the Knicks roster in Las Vegas, but who else could play?

Trevor Keels and Duane Washington Jr., the players that ended last season on two-way deals should be candidates to join the roster. Keels played three games for the Knicks last season, while Washington made 31 appearances for the Phoenix Suns.

Summer League is usually reserved for rookies and second-year players, but there are veterans that make an appearance. Jericho Sims could have been an option, but he is still recovering from his shoulder surgery back in April.

The rest of the roster will likely be rounded out with players who are either undrafted or overseas (i.e. 2021 draft arrival Rokas Jokubaitis) with the hopes of catching on for training camp.

With an extra two-way spot on the roster this season, there's more opportunity than ever to grab a spot on the tail end of the Knicks.
