Lakers Injury Report: Status For LeBron James vs Memphis Revealed

The Los Angeles Lakers earned one of their better wins of the season on Wednesday evening, taking down the Milwaukee Bucks on the road. Not only was it a come-from-behind victory, but the team was able to get it done without the services of star LeBron James.

James missed the game due to injury, but others such as star Anthony Davis stepped up in a big way to get the win. With the postseason coming down the line, every game matters to the Lakers at this point in the season.

The team is currently fighting for playoff positioning, so every win can go a long way to helping their cause. They are just two games back of the Phoenix Suns for the 8th seed in the Western Conference, which would allow them to have two chances to get into the official bracket.

Los Angeles has another game on tap tonight, facing off against the Memphis Grizzlies on the second of a back-to-back. However, it looks like they will indeed have James for this one.

The Athletic's Jovan Buha reported that James is expected to play against Memphis, giving the Lakers more firepower to work with.

"James is expected to return on Wednesday for the second night of the Lakers’ back-to-back in Memphis. He’ll be badly needed with the other core players exhausted and, in Davis’ case, nursing a new ailment."

Getting James back in the mix for this game against Memphis will be a big boost, especially since the Lakers played two overtimes last night. The team is likely exhausted, so James can bring some fresh legs into everything.

He is listed as questionable on the injury report, but the Lakers have done this all year. We will likely see him actviated closer to the start of the game.

Los Angeles needs to take advantage of this game tonight to keep pace around the Western Conference. Every game is crucial at this stage, so they can't afford any slip-ups.

Memphis isn't a very good team, so the Lakers should be able to grab the opportunity if they show up. However, inconsistency has been the name of the game all season for Los Angeles, but the hope is they use the momentum from the win over Milwaukee to help propel them to victory.
