Lakers Injury Report: Gabe Vincent Timetable to Return to Action Revealed
The Los Angeles Lakers are dealing with multiple injuries to their starters, which includes losing LeBron James to today's matchup against the Milwuakee Bucks. However, the team could get reinforcements soon via point guard Gabe Vincent.
Vincent played five games this season and had been dealing with a lingering knee injury. This led to his getting arthroscopic surgery in December to alleviate the lingering injury.
Vince was given a recovery time of six to eight weeks and indicated that the plan was for his return to occur mid to late March. It appears that the timeline given has run true, as Vicnent has been working his way to suiting up. While he will not do so against the Bucks, he could return during the Lakers' six-game road trip.
Dave McMenamin reported on X that, "Gabe Vincent is not with the Lakers in Milwaukee, according to the team. If Vincent continues to progress in his rehab, he could join L.A. at some point in this six-game road trip."
Vincent had been slowly working his way back to action, most recently engaging in non-contact work during practice. Whatever knee injury had been plaguing the point guard might have also been alleviated via the surgery he received.
The Lakers are attempting to avoid the play-in tournament, but might not be able to do so. They will need to win out to ensure they qualify for a chance at the postseason. Getting Vincent back will ceratinly help the team's chances in the play-in tournament and moving forward.
