Lakers Injury Report: Anthony Davis Leaves Floor Vs Heat For Second Time Tonight
Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis valiantly strived to suit up for the second half of LA's continuing matchup against the Miami Heat at Kaseya Center tonight, after suffering a hip/groin spasm late in the second quarter. But he survived just about two minutes into the third quarter before departing for the visitors' locker room again, per Mike Trudell of Lakers.com.
Minimum-salaried reserve power forward/center Christian Wood, who has thrived alongside The Brow in jumbo-sized Darvin Ham lineups already this season, stepped in for LA's max-salaried starting five.
He ultimately returned to the hardwood for Los Angeles with 7:14 remaining in the frame.
Davis has nine points on 4-of-7 shooting, six rebounds, four assists, and one block thus far, along with a -2 plus-minus. LA is currently trailing Miami 79-74, as of this writing. Miami has been draped all over Davis defensively, forcing other Lakers to beat them. The Brow's Heat counterpart in the middle, All-Star Bam Adebayo, has 18 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists already.
LeBron James is leading the way for LA with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting against his former team.
