Lakers Injury Report: Anthony Davis Played Through Ailment In Second Half Of Dallas Defeat
It's a familiar story to any Los Angeles Lakers (or New Orleans Pelicans) fan.
Superstar big man Anthony Davis goes down during a game, in the midst of an absolute two-way display, only to get up and struggle to shake it off.
Typically, he's fine, but man is he dramatic about these falls.
This time, however, it appears something may have been more significantly ailing him.
During the second quarter of tonight's eventual 127-125 loss at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks, The Brow had his worst tumble of the night, and departed the contest for the rest of the half.
He was back out there to start the third quarter, and played pretty well in that frame, helping LA outscore Dallas 34-22 in that period. He looked pretty gassed in the fourth.
According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham now reveals that Davis' lingering groin injury may have been aggravated. Ham explains that the 6'10" center played through the ailment tonight, and is now going to be more fully examined by Los Angeles doctors postgame.
LA is scheduled to play the 3-19 San Antonio Spurs tomorrow night on the second evening of a back-to-back set. The Lakers could sure use Davis in the paint to contain rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama.
